The Nine Mile Creek corridor is without question one of Bloomington’s most treasured natural areas.
The City of Bloomington has announced the award recipients for the 2026 Hatch Bloomington Loves Local program. A total of $124,000 will be awarded to five small businesses in Bloomington to help strengthen operations, support growth and invest in the community's economic future.
As of August 4, Bloomington is in an area of moderate drought. However the Mississippi Headwaters, one source of Bloomington’s drinking water, is in severe drought. If drought conditions worsen, the City will implement measures to reduce water consumption, including outdoor watering restrictions.
Xcel Energy will be testing wooden electricity poles in Bloomington over the next couple of weeks.
