Hatch Bloomington Loves Local awards a total of $124,000 to five local businesses

The City of Bloomington has announced the award recipients for the 2026 Hatch Bloomington Loves Local program. A total of $124,000 will be awarded to five small businesses in Bloomington to help strengthen operations, support growth and invest in the community's economic future.

As drought conditions intensify, remember to use water wisely

As of August 4, Bloomington is in an area of moderate drought. However the Mississippi Headwaters, one source of Bloomington’s drinking water, is in severe drought. If drought conditions worsen, the City will implement measures to reduce water consumption, including outdoor watering restrictions.

West Old Shakopee Road closing July 27 for weeklong railroad reconstruction

On Monday, July 27, Hennepin County will close West Old Shakopee Road (County Road 1) just east of Hampshire Avenue in Bloomington. Traffic will be detoured to Normandale Boulevard, I-494, and East Bush Lake Road.
