Driveway Permitting

We will require a $5,000 Cashier's Check to be held in escrow by the City unless and until the work is completed to standards. No interest will be accrued.

Applicant must submit a plan or drawing of the proposed work to be completed.

Private Driveway: $75

Right-of-way Driveway (apron): $160

• Attached is an electronic version of the bond template we require at the City of Bloomington for EXCAVATION WORK IN PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY.  Please provide this to the bonding company that you choose.
• Once you have secured the fully executed bond (requires a notarized signature from company owner or partner), we need the original document either mailed to or dropped off at our offices at 1700 W 98th St, Bloomington, 55431 during business hours.
  • Note that we cannot accept a copy of this document and it cannot be emailed or faxed to us.

Please provide us with a copy of your COI document (which can be emailed to our office), ensuring the following requirements are reflected on the document:

Minimum coverage as follows:

• $100,000 for any one person
• $300,000 for any one accident
• $100,000 for property damage

The City of Bloomington must be named as additional insured.
