Event Assistance Request

•  4 Bike lockers are available for rent at the southwest corner of Old Shakopee Road and Bloomington Ferry Road
• $65.00 fee per consecutive 12 month period or $11.00 per month with a minimum rental of 3 consecutive months
• Additional $40.00 key deposit is required
• Rentals begin on the 1st day of the calendar month
• Lockers may only be used to store one bicycle and related equipment (helmet, pump, lock, etc.)
• Bicycles may not exceed 69” in length, 29” inches in width and 48” in height.
• Adjacent to Hyland Trail (off-road paved trail) that leads to the Bloomington Ferry Road Trailhead to the south and Countryside Park, Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bush Lake Park and Normandale Lake Park as well as to Eden Prairie (via Pioneer Trail, Bloomington Ferry Road and Marth Road) to the north.

Schneider Theater

The Schneider Theater is ideal for performances, concerts, ceremonies, meetings, conferences, and rehearsals.

Additional Information

• Rental time must include set up and tear down.
• A food/beverage license is required if food will be served to the public.
• Alcohol is not allowed in the Center for the Arts.  A liquor caterer must be approved by City Council and additional fees will apply.
• All rentals must pay a separate damage deposit, which will be refunded after the event.

Bloomington Family Aquatic Center can accommodate group reservations of 20 or more. 

Private pool rentals are also possible, typically 7 - 9 p.m. daily.

Multi-Purpose Room

Bloomington Parks and Recreation has a total of 210 garden plots available to rent. There are four Community Garden sites in Bloomington:

• Brookside - on the west side of Xerxes, just north of 102nd Street
• Smith Park - on the east side of Park Avenue between 82nd and 83rd streets
• Harrison Park - 1701 W. 100th Street
• South Loop - on the east side of E Old Shakopee Rd, just south of E 86th St

RENT A RINK!

Did you know you can rent an outdoor ice skating rink for an event or other private use? 

Visit blm.mn/rent-a-rink to find a location that's perfect for you. Rentals are available in one-hour increments during park open hours throughout the outdoor skating season, which typically runs from the middle of December to the middle or end of February.

Note: Warming houses are not included in rental.

Reservation requests for 2026 will be accepted online and in person starting January 6, 2026 at 9 a.m.

Park shelters are open from April 15 through October 15. Rent a shelter for family gatherings, company picnics, group events, banquets, wedding receptions, class reunions, meetings and more!

What is not allowed?

• Glass bottles or containers
• Use of tobacco products

Do I need additional licenses or permits?

• To sell food or drinks to the public, you need a food/beverage license.
  • You do not need a license if you only serve your invited guests.
• To have pony rides, stages, inflatables, dunk tanks, and tents you need a Temporary Conditional Use Permit.
  • These aerial views may help you in the placement of your inflatable.
  • Permit prices range from $50-$200.
• To have amplified sound, you may need a license and must comply with the City's noise restrictions.
  • Complete Public Entertainment License Application and submit it to Business Licensing.
  • Indicate "Public Assembly" under "Type of license".
  • A license is not required for personal electronic devices.

General Facility Rental Cancellation Policy

Contact Parks and Recreation directly to cancel facility rentals. Call 952-563-8877, e-mail parksrec@BloomingtonMN.gov, or visit Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Rd. 

Cancellations made by Parks and Recreation: 
FULL refund 

Cancellations made by renter: 
Within 2 weeks of rental date: NO Refund
With at least 2 weeks’ notice: FULL Refund (minus $25 processing fee per canceled rental)

In late 2024, the Bloomington City Council and Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners approved a cooperative agreement allowing Three Rivers to begin operating the regional parks and trails owned by the City of Bloomington. This agreement began on January 1, 2025.  

All facilities and amenities included in the cooperative agreement are part of the Hyland-Bush-Anderson Lakes Park Reserve, where both Three Rivers and the City have historically managed parkland and facilities. This partnership agreement will increase operational efficiency and reduce costs to the public by having one agency oversee all operations and maintenance within the park reserve. 

Three Rivers and City staff have been meeting regularly to ensure a smooth transition. There are no anticipated interruptions to amenities or services.

What park facilities are included in the partnership agreement?

Three Rivers will assume oversight and operations of all regional park facilities owned by the City of Bloomington, including:

• Bush Lake - beach, picnic areas, boat launch, watercraft racks
• Normandale Lake - bandshell and trails
• Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail - segment located in Bloomington
• Nokomis-Minnesota River Regional Trail - segment located in Bloomington

Who will handle reservations and rentals for picnic shelters, the bandshell and watercraft racks?

All reservations and rentals will be made through Three Rivers Park District. Reservations and rentals can be made online at ThreeRiversParks.org or over the phone at 763-559-6700. 

Reservations for 2025 will be available starting Monday, March 3. A Three Rivers account will be required to make a reservation. Accounts can be created online or over the phone.

Will 2025 reservations previously made through the City of Bloomington still be honored?

Yes. Any reservations for Bush Lake or Normandale Lake facilities that were made through the City of Bloomington for a date in 2025 are confirmed and will be honored by Three Rivers Park District.

Where can I get information about the amenities and facilities that are now managed by Three Rivers?

Details about the amenities and facilities at Bush Lake and Normandale Lake parks, including fees and availability calendars, will be available on the Three Rivers website (ThreeRiversParks.org) by February 3, 2025.

Will Camp Kota still be offered at Bush Lake?

Yes. The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation staff will continue to offer Camp Kota at Bush Lake. Registration for this program will be available through the City of Bloomington as it has been previously at blm.mn/youth-programs.

Will Arts in the Parks events still happen at the Normandale Lake Bandshell?

Yes. The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation staff will continue to host concerts and events at the Normandale Lake bandshell. More details about the 2025 line up will be available on the City’s website at 
blm.mn/artsparks.

Will there be significant changes to the offerings or operations at Bush Lake or Normandale Lake?

No. The goal is to keep operations as consistent as possible, making for a seamless transition. As Three Rivers becomes more familiar with the operations and locations, they may explore new opportunities and offerings.

Does Three Rivers now own the Bush Lake and Normandale Lake park locations?

No. These locations are still owned by the City of Bloomington. Under the cooperative agreement, Three Rivers will manage the operations and maintenance of these regional park locations.

Is this a permanent operational change?

The current cooperative agreement is for five years with opportunity for renewal.
