Temporary Training Track

temporary bike skills jump track

Tretbaugh Park is now home to a new set of portable mountain bike skills features inside the east rink.

The equipment from Yardi Mountain Bike Features is designed to mimic what riders might find on a single-track trail.

This new feature provides an opportunity to safely practice, allowing riders to develop skills and gain confidence they can take to the trails.

The equipment was installed the week of August 28 and will remain in place throughout fall 2023.

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Park Maintenance staff will remove the building and 27 trees, including mostly boxelder but also non-native and invasive understory species like buckthorn, at Tretbaugh Park. This work is being done to prepare the site for the new bike skills features that will be constructed beginning late summer 2024, with anticipated completion in 2025. As part of this project, approximately 56 new trees and 2.5 acres of native landscape will be added to the park.

The skating rink will remain in place and available as an off-leash area for dogs until mid-summer, at which time it will be removed to accommodate the start of construction. Park Maintenance staff are exploring the possibility of configuring the rink at Brookside Park as a replacement seasonal off-leash area for dogs.
