Designed for students entering grades 3 - 7, this four-day camp blends active group games, creative craft stations and two exciting field trips. Campers will rotate rotate through hands-on activities each day and create their own unique masterpieces to take home.

Camp Kota is designed to provide an opportunity for kids to learn basic outdoor skills while meeting new friends, singing crazy songs and having tons of fun! Campers experience a unique outdoor recreation schedule for each grade section, so the fun keeps coming each year they return!

2026 Dakota Language Camp info coming soon
2025 Dakota Language Camp
A unique approach to language learning for both Dakota and non-Dakota youth and adults, the 3-day Dakota Language Camp provides an introduction to one of Minnesota's native languages. Learning is through hands-on experiences of traditional Dakota games, crafts, songs, dancing and foods. Participants will even get a chance to sit in a tipi to learn how it was used and furnished.
Since Dakota culture is rooted in the land, many words are learned during nature walks on the beautiful trails in the Minnesota River Valley. Dakota teachers will also explain their nation's values and history.
This camp is held at the historic Pond Dakota Mission Park, located on the bluffs of the Minnesota River Valley. Large grassy areas in the park are used for outdoor games.
The Dakota Language camp is a joint venture of Bloomington Parks and Recreation and the Dakota Language Department of the University of Minnesota, which creates the program content and provides experienced teaching staff.

Get a glimpse of what Dakota Language Camp is all about!
Each day brings a new outdoor adventure as campers set off on a walking field trip to the beautiful and historic Gideon and Agnes Pond House in Bloomington!
Based out of Kelly Park, this week-long camp blends play, exploration and discovery. Campers will enjoy hands-on nature activities, outdoor games and creative projects inspired by the history and environment surrounding the historic Pond House. Daily walks encourage curiosity, teamwork and appreciation for the natural spaces in our community.

Parks Power Camp is held at six parks: Kelly, Poplar Bridge, Running, Smith, Sunrise and Westwood,
Monday through Thursday, participants will practice their parks skills and skits. On Friday, participants will travel via bus to Bryant Park and compete against other parks in recreation and parks events.
Participants should pack a lunch for Friday.

This camp is designed for athletes eager to explore a variety of sports!
Each morning participants will engage in a different group sport.
- Campers are welcome to bring their own equipment, but all necessary supplies will be provided.
- Kickball, softball, volleyball, basketball and soccer will all be incorporated.
In the afternoons, campers will head to Bloomington Family Aquatic Center to work on swim skills and play water games.

2025: Explore the Wonders of Moir Park
Youth from 3rd through 7th grade, enjoy a wonderful spring break experience at Moir Park! With a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, including (but not limited to):
- Disc golf
- Crafts
- Nature walks to soak in the beauty of the season.
The Nine Mile Creek corridor provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the local ecosystem and see how it changes from frozen to flowing. It’s sure to be a memorable time for all!
This camp will be offered snow or shine and activities will vary based on the weather. We can't wait to see you there!

Join us for a summer of FUN in a local neighborhood park!
Enjoy games, sports, arts and crafts, and special events. Participants will be supervised by instructors experienced in recreation and working with children.
Registrations are accepted until one week before the start of each program week. Each week has a minimum required number of registrants. If a week does not meet the minimum registration requirement, spots will be offered at the next nearest park location.

Wrap up summer with three days of fun, friendship and celebration! During our Summer Send-Off Camp participants will enjoy a mix of their favorite games, creative crafts, outdoor adventures and special end-of-summer activities.
Each day is designed to allow participants to reflect on summer memories, try something new and celebrate friendships made along the way. It’s the perfect way to end the season on a high note before heading into the school year.

The Bryant Brunch is a fun-filled, four-day program designed for youth in kindergarten through grade 2. Campers will spend their days exploring the wonders of Bryant Park while making new friends, trying exciting activities and enjoying the outdoors.
Participants will alternate between outdoor and indoor activities at our new air-conditioned shelter. This program is 50% structured and 50% group play.
During the week of June 29-July 2, two fieldtrips will bus participants to Bush Lake Beach for fun activities, rotations and swimming.

Tots Program (ages 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 years)
Amazing Tots is a guided, discovery-based program helping children ages 18 months to 2 1/2 years engage in structured physical activities tailored specifically to toddlers. During each weekly class, toddlers learn about one of four sports through our discovery lessons. Classes also balance a combination of structured physical challenges and organized physical exploration activities specifically designed with little ones in mind. Important reading and developmental properties also are incorporated into physical activities combining fitness, learning and fun all in one! Amazing Tots gain physical and academic advantages that prepare them to excel in preschool and beyond. Following the love of healthy lifestyle instilled in this program, our toddlers gain skills and tools that can last a lifetime.
Preschool Program (ages 2 1/2 - 6 years)
This action-packed curriculum shows kids just how much fun fitness can be! During weekly classes, children learn the importance of patience, teamwork, and self-confidence in a non-competitive, learning-based environment that fosters a love of healthy living. Their excitement for structured physical activity promotes advancements and advantages that keep children on the path to personal well-being. Non-competitive group classes let children build confidence in a safe and fun environment while also building teamwork and good sportsmanship all while we encourage kids to explore and develop a variety of athletic skills through the introduction of 10 different sports. To keep healthy and active, our bodies need the right kind of fuel. The Amazing Athletes nutrition program introduces the children to 16 different fruits and vegetables as well as important vitamins and minerals so that they go home excited about trying new, healthy foods.

A balance bike race is a thrilling event where young children showcase their balance and riding skills on balance bikes, which are non-pedal bikes designed to help kids learn how to balance and steer before transitioning to traditional bicycles.
Who: These races are for youth ages 2 – 6.
Equipment: Every participant must supply their own balance bike (no pedals) and helmet.
When: 9 - 11 a.m. (see schedule below).

Additional Program Information
Program Skill Levels:
Participants will be grouped by both age and skill level to ensure appropriate placement:
- Beginner Stage 1: For new players with little or no prior tennis experience.
- Stage 2 or 3: For players with previous training, placed according to their current abilities as assessed by our coaches.
The above structure ensures that each player receives appropriate training tailored to their level of development.
Here is what participants should bring to their tennis lessons:
- Appropriately sized racquet (see racquet selection paragraph below). We will have a few trial racquets available.
- Water bottle
- Players must wear tennis shoes
Racquet Selection: Please visit the USTA website to learn more about selecting an appropriately sized racquet.
The benefits of children using junior and appropriately sized racquets is their ability to maneuver the racquet comfortably and to develop the foundational skills we are teaching in our classes.
Parent Lesson Viewing Guideline: To watch lessons, parents must stay outside the courts and refrain from coaching their children during the lessons.
Coaching Team: Tenicity is led by Harsh Mankad, a Gopher Hall of Fame inductee, NCAA Division 1 National Singles Champion, and USTA award-winning tennis program leader. All of our coaches are personally trained and certified by Harsh to ensure they effectively teach stroke development and fundamentals in line with Tenicity’s proven developmental system.
Cancellation Policy
- Full refund (minus $10 processing fee) if participant cancels up to one week before start of program.
- No refund if participant cancels within one week of start of program.
- Full refund if canceled due to low enrollment.
- If a lesson is cancelled due to weather, Tenicity will give a makeup date/time to the group.
- There will be no refunds provided to participants who cannot attend the makeup session.
- Tenicity will not provide a makeup session if half or more of a group lesson is completed prior to weather interruption.
About Tenicity: Each year, Tenicity introduces over 500 youth to tennis through its programs across the Twin Cities, helping them learn and develop in the game. In 2023, Tenicity’s leader, Harsh Mankad, received the USTA Junior Development Award for the program’s impact on growing youth participation and fostering player development. Tenicity’s coaching team includes experienced professionals with collegiate tennis backgrounds, as well as dedicated college and high school Varsity players with a strong interest in coaching and developing young athletes.
Toddlers, this open gym program is for you! Each week the gym will be setup with balls, blocks, mats and games to help little ones explore, play and grow.
- Who: Children up to 5 years of age, accompanied by parent/guardian/caregiver.
- When: Wednesdays, November 5, 2025 - April 29, 2026, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

- Children under 1(free) and above 5(pay) are welcome, but activities are geared towards walking children ages 1-5.
NOTE: This is a drop-in, not drop-off program. Parents/guardians must remain in the gym while children are participating.
Heijeu Arts Creative Sampler Class
Creative Sampler is the perfect way to dive into the world of making—and an open invitation to rediscover your creativity! Instructor, Heidi Jeub, spent nearly half a century turning ideas into art, and this 6-week class is designed to teach the technical skills and creative philosophy that keep the process fresh, fearless, and fun.
Each session blends skill-building with playful experimentation. You’ll learn foundational techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking and collage while developing your own voice through a mix of guided exercises and personal projects. Together, we’ll make a hardbound journal, explore color and composition through Gelli prints and mixed-media studies, and finish by creating a small art series of your choice—on canvas, paper, or as a handmade book.

- Weeks 3–4: Drawing, painting, Gelli prints, and collage.

This class is ideal for curious beginners and seasoned makers alike. It’s a space to play, take creative risks, and connect with a community of fellow explorers.

Fishing isn’t just a summer activity! Once our lakes freeze over, we can venture out and catch fish through the ice. We will show you how to use the equipment, understand and find where the fish live in winter, and practice reeling in the different species of fish that call Bush Lake home. Youth Programs Lottery
- Lottery Enrollment: All weeklong camps use a lottery system to select program participants. The Lottery is completed via the online Webtrac system.
- Lottery enrollment opens for Priority Registration: January 5, 2026, 9 a.m.
- Lottery enrollment deadline for Priority Registration: February 4, 2026
- All Bloomington residents will have until February 4 at 11:59 p.m. to enter into the Lottery for Priority Registration.
- Lottery Spin and Notification: February 5, 2026
- The Lottery Spin takes place at 9 a.m.
- Those selected via the Lottery to participate in the Priority Registration period (for weeklong summer camps ONLY) will be notified via email.
- After receiving the email, you may begin registering for camps immediately.
- Priority Registration deadline: February 18, 2026
- You have until February 18 at 11:59 p.m. to complete camp registration(s).
- Open Registration: February 19, 2026
- Beginning at 9 a.m. on this date, registration will be open to both residents and nonresidents on a first come, first served basis. A waitlist will also be available.

- Fee assistance applications are due at least 10 days prior to registration. It is recommended that you submit fee assistance when you register for the Lottery. Bloomington Athletic Association
Bloomington Athletic Association (BAA) is one of the largest volunteer sports organizations in the United States.
BAA annually serves more than 3,000 youth in 13 sports including: flag football, tackle football, tennis, soccer, basketball, golf, wrestling, floor hockey, volleyball, baseball, softball, and track and field.
BAA’s philosophy has remained the same for over seven decades:

Bloomington Fastpitch Association
Bloomington Fastpitch Association (BFA) is a non-profit, volunteer-managed, youth sports organization that promotes excellence in girls' fastpitch softball.
We focus on providing girls in the age groups of 8 and under (8U), 10 and under (10U), 12 and under (12U), 14 and under, (14U), and 16 and under (16U) the opportunity to play competitively while developing the athletic skills to move to the next level.
Bloomington Traveling Baseball Association
The mission of the Bloomington Traveling Baseball Association (BTBA) is to create a positive, rewarding experience for the serious baseball player by helping them further develop their baseball skills and understanding of the game in preparation for high school level play and beyond.
