Bloomington Public Health, en colaboración con Raices Latinas, organiza una serie virtual gratuita para fomentar el bienestar de nuestra comunidad hispanohablante. Las sesiones serán dirigidas por profesionales de la salud mental con licencia y se centrarán en:

  • Aumentar la conciencia sobre estrategias saludables de afrontamiento
  • Desarrollar habilidades para la regulación emocional
  • Fortalecer la comunicación y el apoyo familiar
  • Alentar a los participantes a buscar ayuda temprana ante inquietudes de salud mental

Bloomington Public Health serves the communities of Bloomington, Edina and Richfield. 

Bloomington Public Health in partnership with Raices Latinas is hosting a free virtual series to support wellbeing with our Spanish-speaking community. Sessions will be led by licensed mental health professionals and will be focused on: 

  • Increasing awareness of healthy coping strategies
  • Building skills around emotional regulation
  • Strengthening family communication and support
  • Encouraging participants to seek help early for mental health concerns

The Bloomington Human Rights Commission is proud to host an interactive civic workshop exploring how rights in the United States can be limited, shaped, and reimagined through real-world conditions. The Civic Thread Project creates hands-on civic learning experiences that bring people together to explore democracy as a living system - one that must be practiced, challenged, and renewed.

Led By:

Karen Lundquist, a practicing attorney, legal educator,
and law professor.

What You’ll Do

  • Examine rights we often take for granted
  • Experience how rights can be limited or removed 
  • Explore real examples from U.S. history
  • Collaborate in small-group discussions

  • Build constitutional literacy
  • Strengthen democratic judgment
  • Gain confidence in civic participation

Pregnant individuals and families with children up to 5-years-old are invited to meet an Infant Health Public Health Staff. Services available include resources, group education, group or one-on-one support, and baby supplies. 

Somali speaking staff from Bloomington Public Health will be available on site during these sessions. If other languages are needed, interpretation is available. 

This group typically meets on the third Friday of the month from 3:30pm-5:00pm beginning September 2025-June 2026.
