Bloomington residents are invited to participate in the annual National Community Survey™. This is an opportunity to provide input about how the City is serving its residents. The survey includes questions about the quality of life in the community as well as your satisfaction with local government services.

Please note that once you have answered the questions, you will be asked to provide your email and zip code. This is optional. Responses are confidential and no identifying information will be shared.

Are you looking for a fun and whimsical way to get creative? Join a naturalist at Harrison Park to create your very own fairy garden! 

Explore Nine Mile Creek to find rocks, sticks and other nature materials to turn into a home for your backyard fairies. 

  • Additional materials will be available to help make your imaginations come to life.
    • Provided on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
  • Head south down the trail from the parking lot.
    • Tables will be set up at the first trail intersection.
  • No experience is necessary.
  • Free program. No registration required.

The Top 25 semifinalists for this year's Hatch Bloomington have been selected! The entries highlight some of our community's most promising and creative ideas.

This year’s competition drew entries from innovators, entrepreneurs, and community members eager to make Bloomington an even better place to live and work. The semifinalists represent a diverse range of projects from new businesses and nonprofit initiatives to creative solutions for local challenges.

On-the-ground knowledge, trusted relationships, and deep understanding of local needs are essential to creating emergency management strategies that are equitable, effective, and responsive. We invite you to join the discussion by participating in one of the upcoming sessions. Both will be held online.  

The process and session is being facilitated by the Management Analysis and Development team at Minnesota Management and Budget.  

Listening Session Details: 

Option 1: Monday, June 2 from 9-10:30 a.m. 

Option 2: Thursday, June 5 from 9-10:30 a.m.   

What to Expect: 

This session will be an open, respectful space for community organizations to: 

  • Share challenges and barriers your communities face during emergencies
  • Highlight successful strategies or approaches your organization has used
  • Offer input on how emergency plans can better reflect the realities of the communities you serve  

Your input will directly inform the development of a more inclusive and equity-driven emergency management plan.
