Bloomington, MN— The City of Bloomington is proud to announce its recognition as one of Minnesota’s Top Workplaces for 2025, coming in at No. 45 among organizations with more than 500 employees. The award, presented by the Minnesota Star Tribune and Energage, highlights organizations that prioritize employee engagement, communication and a strong workplace culture.

The rankings are based entirely on feedback from employee surveys, which evaluate key areas such as alignment, execution and connection. This achievement reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive and forward-thinking work environment where employees can thrive.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of Minnesota’s Top Workplaces,” said Bloomington Mayor Tim Busse. “This reflects the dedication and passion of our staff, who serve the community with integrity and excellence every day.”

More than 5,000 organizations were invited to participate in the survey and more than 149 thousand employees shared their views.

Bloomington Family Aquatic Center will open to the public on Thursday, June 19. The pool opening was delayed a little over a week this year because of a leak. The repairs are now complete and the pool has been refilled. The weather for opening day looks perfect – sunny skies with a high of 85 degrees. Come join us!

Thank you to our contractors and City staff for tirelessly working to get the pool ready for a safe, fun summer swimming season. Most importantly, thank you to our season pass holders and valued guests for your patience and understanding throughout this process. We are deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic shooting and killing of Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and the shooting of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. On behalf of the City of Bloomington, I want to offer heartfelt condolences to the families of Rep. and Mr. Hortman, and our thoughts are with the Hoffman family as they recover.

Targeted attacks against public servants and their families are abhorrent and have no place in our society.

This is a somber day for the State of Minnesota.
