Our Mission


The Department's mission is the preservation and protection of life, property, and the enviroment against injury and damage from emergencies and disasters.

About Us

The Bloomington Fire Department operates out of six fire stations strategically placed throughout the city to provide the community with adequate coverage and timely responses.

The department is made up of full-time and part-time staff.  Our full-time staff include the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal, Deputy Chief, three Battalion Chiefs, five Firefighter/Inspectors, and 48 full-time firefighters.  Our part-time staff comprise of 82 part-time firefighters.  Together, we work twenty-four hours a day in unison to provide quality services.
