Continental Ballet Company presents Giselle at Bloomington Center for the Arts' Schneider Theater.

This romantic two-act ballet with music by Adophe Adam tells the story of the young peasant girl Giselle who is betrayed by her lover, a nobleman in disguise. She dies of a broken heart and joins "The Wilis", a ghostly group of brides-to-be that lure men to their deaths by forcing them to dance endlessly.

In the end, true love and forgiveness prevail as Giselle chooses to protect and save the life of her lover.

On Thursday, February 19, at 8:30 a.m., the Cities for Safe and Stable Communities Coalition, now representing 20 Minnesota cities including Bloomington, will hold a press conference to announce their focus on recovery and stabilizing cities this legislative session in the wake of Operation Metro Surge. As part of stabilization efforts, the coalition will announce their legislative ask of municipal aid to recoup overtime costs and address economic instability as a result of the surge.

Mayors from Hopkins, Brooklyn Center, Golden Valley, Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie will join other local leaders to speak on how cities are managing the impacts of Operation Metro Surge. The coalition is focused on stabilizing local economies, strengthening public trust in local government, and reaffirming local control in the face of federal overreach.
