Good news! The leak under the main pool surface at Bloomington Family Aquatic Center (BFAC) has been repaired.
Now crews are focused on pouring concrete. Once it cures, the concrete will be painted. Concrete and paint curing are weather dependent processes that could take longer with rainy weather, which is forecasted over the next few days.
After the concrete is poured, cured and painted, City staff will fill the pool, balance the chemical levels and reinspect the pool which takes a few days.
The City is aiming to open BFAC as soon as possible, which will likely fall between June 21-28, weather permitting. We will post another update the week of June 16-20 when we know more.
In the meantime, don’t forget about free options for summer fun Bush Lake Beach, 9140 E. Bush Lake Road, and Cedarcrest Splash Pad, 8700 Bloomington Ave. S. BFAC season pass holders are welcome to use their pass at the Richfield Outdoor Pool. Pass holders must show their season pass upon arrival.
Thank you, again, for your patience as we work to prepare for a safe, fun season at the pool.
