The City Council will hold a 30-minute listening session prior to each regular City Council meeting on Monday evenings. Listening sessions are held in the Haeg Conference Room, on the 2nd floor of Bloomington Civic Plaza. Each speaker or group will be provided up to five minutes to speak with the Mayor, City Council, and City staff. Listening sessions are intended for any topic unless the topic is about a public hearing at that night's regular City Council meeting.

How to participate in a listening session

Please register to speak by contacting the Council Secretary at 952-563-8782 or by emailing councilsecretary@bloomingtonmn.gov no later than 2 p.m. on the meeting date. Provide your name and a brief summary of the subject on which you wish to speak with the Council. Providing a topic will ensure that the appropriate City staff can be available to assist in answering questions and providing information.

Speakers who have preregistered will be called on to speak before any speakers who have not preregistered.

The City Council will hold a 75-minute special listening session prior to the regular City Council meeting on February 2. The session will provide an opportunity for individuals to share comments related to immigration enforcement.  Comments on any other topics will be taken after those related to immigration enforcement. The listening session will take place from 5:00–6:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Civic Plaza. Each individual will have up to three minutes to address the Mayor and City Council. An audio call-in option will be available to provide comments via phone. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged but not required.
