Bloomington Parks and Recreation is celebrating four 2025 Awards of Excellence from the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association, recognizing the creativity, dedication and collaboration of City staff, community partners and volunteers. The awards highlight a range of work across Bloomington’s parks and programs.
The Data-Driven Park Maintenance and Operations Plan was recognized for improving quality and consistency across the park system. Logan Lodge earned recognition for providing exceptional programming for active older adults while the community health and wellness center was under construction. The Indigenous Art Fair was honored for celebrating Indigenous culture and building strong community partnerships.
And a volunteer effort at Dred Scott Park also received an award for improving ballfields through a partnership with The Toro Company and Bloomington Blast softball.
