Do you know a person or organization that ensures the people of Bloomington have equal opportunities in employment, housing, public accommodations, public services or education? Nominate them for the annual Omar Bonderud Human Rights Award.

The award is presented by the Human Rights Commission to an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to ensuring the rights of people in Bloomington. Omar Bonderud was the first chairperson of the Human Rights Commission when it was formed in 1968.  Since 1974, Bloomington’s Human Rights Commission has recognized 41 local people and organizations with the award.

Nominations are due by August 29.  For more information on how to apply and to view previous awardees, visit blm.mn/bonderud, email humanrights@bloomingtonmn.gov, or call 952-563-8733.
