Join the Bloomington Historical Society to learn all about the history of Bloomington elementary schools on January 17, 10-11 a.m. at Creekside Community Center, 9801 Penn Avenue South.
The society will share photos, relics and stories about how Bloomington elementary schools started, and how they’ve changed over the years.

Public education in Bloomington dates back to the 1850s. Six one-room schools served the then rural community of Bloomington, providing an education for children through the eighth grade. To continue their high school education, students enrolled in Minneapolis high schools, and traveling by horse and buggy or sleigh.
