The City is excited to announce the Welcome to Bloomington program launching this year to greet new residents, including renters and homeowners, to Bloomington. The program was co-created by residents, community partners and City staff.

A design group was formed to build the foundation of the program. An implementation team also contributed further details to the design group’s work. Collectively, both groups created an annual Welcome to Bloomington program that focuses on five key initiatives:

  • A bucket list including community events and places to visit.

  • New resident meetings: The first is scheduled on Saturday, January 20, 10-11:30 a.m., at The Lounge at MOA, Mall of America, Level 2 North, 2131 Lindau Lane.

  • Neighborhood events.

  • Resource fair.

  • Cultural fair.

Each initiative is focused on engaging new residents in the City services, programs, activities and community resources Bloomington has to offer while connecting current residents with new residents. Questions? Email equity@BloomingtonMN.gov or visit blm.mn/welcome.
