If you see non-City crews working in a right-of-way along a street near you or in backyard drainage and utility easements, they may be installing fiber optic cable.
There are currently three fiber companies doing work in Bloomington: Arvig Zayo, CenturyLink/Lumen, and Intrepid (T-Mobile). The work is not being carried out by the City of Bloomington, but the providers do have permits to perform this work.
Weather dependent, the work is expected to continue for the next year. Prior to starting the work, these companies are supposed be placing door hangers in the neighborhoods with contact information on them should you have questions. Please contact the crews working on the installations if you have questions about the project.
