Join the Sustainability Commission and Bloomington Parks Maintenance staff to help remove invasive buckthorn along Nine Mile Creek. We’ll meet in the parking lot at Harrison Park at 10 a.m. and work until 12 p.m. The buckthorn bust will take place south of the Harrison Park parking lot along a paved trail. Volunteer activities include identifying, cutting, pulling, and hauling buckthorn. No experience is necessary.*
Bring your own work gloves, water bottle, and wear shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit muddy. All other equipment will be provided. In the event of inclement weather and cancelation, registered participants will be notified via the email address provided at registration.
*New to identifying and removing buckthorn? Want a refresher? Arrive at 9:30 a.m. for a training session with Sustainability Commission Chair Angie Begosh and City staff.
