The City is delaying the Bloomington Family Aquatic Center (BFAC) opening date of June 9 to allow time for crews to repair a leak detected in a pipe underneath the main pool surface. BFAC will open no earlier than Friday, June 13. BFAC’s exact opening date will depend on how long the repair takes.

City staff are working with a contractor that specializes in pool leak repairs to determine how long the repair will take, which could be as little as three to five days. If the required repair is more significant, additional time may be needed. More information about repair timing will be shared when it is available.

We know many community members look forward to summer at the pool and we’re doing everything we can to minimize disruption. BFAC season pass holders are welcome to use their pass at the Richfield Outdoor Pool June 9-13. Pass holders must show their season pass upon arrival. City staff are communicating with all user groups that had reservations at BFAC June 9-13 to ensure they have access to alternate facilities.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to get the pool ready for the summer.
