Discover the nighttime world of moths and more with naturalists from Nature Enthusiations!

Explore a diversity of moths and other evening insects and how to attract these and other beneficial ‘bugs’.

  • Help set up and monitor a light sheet lure.
  • Compare how moths differ from their butterfly relatives.
  • See what’s inside an ‘empty’ moth cocoon.
  • Practice using iNaturalist and field guides to help identify what we find.

This is a free event with no registration required.

  • Drop in any time from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a flashlight or headlamp.
  • If you’re worried about mosquitoes, we recommend wearing clothes that cover your skin and/or an insect headnet.
  • PLEASE avoid applying insect repellant near the Pond House and on your hands.
  • Program is geared towards adults and families with kids 10 years of age and above.

Presented as part of the ongoing Naturalist Programs series.
