Calling all young nature explorers! Have you ever wondered how to get birds to come to you? Do you want to learn how to find animals out in nature? Join Naturalist Steve Weston to become an animal whisperer.
Steve will share tips and tricks on how to “talk” to birds and observe the natural world, followed by a group hike so you can give it a try for yourself. Come discover the amazing natural life at Marsh Lake Park, including deer, turtles, squirrels, and maybe even the local pair of Sandhill Cranes!
- This program is geared towards children of any age, but all ages are welcome to participate.
- For the best experience, participants should be prepared to have quiet voices on the hike.
- Trail surfaces will include mulch and packed dirt. The terrain will mostly be flat, with possible small hills.
- Meet the naturalist at the intersection of Xerxes Rd. S. and W. 96th St., on the east side of Marsh Lake Park.
This is a FREE program. No registration required.
- Note: This is not a drop-off program. All children must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult 18 years of age or older for the duration of the event.
Presented as part of the Naturalist Programs series. Occurs weather permitting. Check the status of events during inclement weather by calling 952-563-8878 or visiting the Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
