Bringing Our Relatives Back Home

Saturday, April 27, 2024 - 12–4 p.m.

Learn about the ongoing 10,000-year relationship between the Dakota people and their relatives, the Bison (Tatanka), from Paul Dressen, Education Director for the Prairie Island Indian Community and Richard Buck, Manager of Prairie Island’s Bison herd. 

Experience a hands-on exhibit of how every part of the Bison was used and its importance for the Dakota people. Then try some tasty Bison meat. 

This free program is a collaboration between Bloomington Parks and Recreation and the Prairie Island Indian Community. 

No registration required. Drop in any time during the three-hour event.
