National Infant Immunization Week

Sections

April 21 - 28 is National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW). This annual observance is an opportunity to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs.

The Minnesota Vaccines for Children (MnVFC) program offers free or low-cost vaccines for children who are eligible. This program wants to ensure cost is not a factor for parents or guardians in getting their child vaccinated.

The Public Health Division participates in the program and offers vaccines for little to no cost to children who qualify.

Who qualifies?

Children 0 - 18 years of age who meet at least one of the following criteria are eligible to receive vaccines through the MnVFC program:

  • Medicaid eligible (includes programs such as Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, or Prepaid Medical Assistance Plan)
  • Uninsured
  • American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Underinsured
