For the past four and a half years, Aarin Urevig has supported Bloomington families as a public health nurse in the Family Home Visiting program, helping parents prepare for birth, navigate the newborn stage and connect with community resources.

Aarin recently earned her Master of Public Health in maternal and child health with a minor in Public Policy. Her studies explored how public health policy and partnerships can strengthen breastfeeding support and equitable care.

“I’m passionate about helping families,” Aarin said. “Public health is about meeting people where they are and making sure every parent has what they need to give their child a healthy start.”

Aarin also serves as a food advisor in the Minnesota National Guard, where she ensures service members have access to safe food and water.

Outside of work, Aarin enjoys planning her next house project, camping, traveling (recently to the Amazon rainforest) and cozy mornings with a chai latte and her parrot, Char.
