On Thursday, August 24, 2023, at approximately 4:40 am, the Bloomington Police responded to a residence in the 1000 block of 105th Street in response to a 911 caller who was asking for help and stated there was someone inside their house.  Upon arrival officers observed a female on the ground inside the home and observed a male running from the home, the adult male was taken into custody.  A second victim was also located in the home.   The victims appeared to be suffering from apparent stab and blunt force injuries.  The victims, a 72-year-old female and a 74-year-old male, were provided medical treatment and transported by ambulance to the Hennepin County Medical Center. The male victim was later pronounced deceased at HCMC.    The male who fled from this home, Adam Garrett Roring, 44 years of age, is being held at the Bloomington Police Department on the charge of murder.

Based upon the preliminary investigation, it is believed there is no known danger to the public at this time and this was not a random incident.

Chief Hodges: “This is a horrific and tragic event, and we ask for thoughts and prayers for the victims and their family.  I am grateful for the excellent work of our dispatchers and police officers which led to the immediate apprehension of the suspect.”
