Local navigation refers to the left-hand navigation that shows on most web pages.
Adding a page to local navigation
- Scroll to "Menu options" and check "Provide a menu link" (this is at the bottom of the editor view on far right)
- Fill in the "Menu link title." This is what will show in the navigation bar, so shorter is better. Leave the description field blank.
- Select "site navigation" for the parent item (this is the only option).
- Select your local navigation group (Police, Parks and Rec, etc.)
If you did nothing else, this example would make a new item in the local navigation at the top level.
Depending on the page and your navigation group, you may want to nest the page under another. In this example the page is nested under the "News, events and alerts" page.
