One Thousand and One Thresholds is a multidisciplinary workshop series designed for adult artists who want to deepen their creative practice while building community with other artists.
We invite writers, dancers, musicians, visual artists, performers, and creatives across disciplines to gather, experiment, and learn from one another through shared creative practice.
Based in Bloomington, this workshop series creates space for artists to connect closer to home, fostering collaboration, curiosity, and creative exchange across disciplines and experience levels. Co-led by Bloomington artist Rupa Thadhani and rotating teaching artists.
The Works Museum

Workshop Format
Workshops are held weekly and in person. Each two-hour session includes:
- A guest-led creative practice or prompt
- Embodiment exercises to support creativity and connection
- Independent creative work time
- Group reflection and conversation
Cohorts are intentionally small, with approximately 15 participants, to encourage meaningful connection and exchange.

Who Should Register
Adult artists at all stages of practice are encouraged to participate. We welcome participants from all artistic disciplines, backgrounds, generations, and communities.
