Join us for an exciting Beginner Bird Walk with a naturalist guide!

Whether you’re a first-timer or just looking to refresh your birding skills, this walk is the perfect way to get outdoors and connect with nature.

Discover the thrill of spotting local birds in their natural habitat as you learn the basics of using binoculars, identifying different species, and exploring some helpful birding apps and resources. You’ll be amazed at what you can spot when you know where to look.

Binoculars are available to borrow, so all you need to bring is your curiosity and a sense of adventure. All experience levels are welcome—no prior birding knowledge required.

Trail information

  • Hike departs from the historic Pond House and heads down the Bluff Trail.
    • Wear clothes and shoes appropriate for a 1.5-to-2-mile hike.
    • Trail conditions vary. The hike will start by going down a moderately steep hill and end going back up the same hill.
