Bloomington Public Health supports the goals of Nutrition Month (March) year-round by helping eligible people who are pregnant, have recently been pregnant or have children up to five years of age access nutritious food through the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition program.
BPH served 3,082 WIC participants in 2025. WIC dietitians play a critical role in educating individuals on how food impacts health through their lifespan.
“Our food and beverage choices have the power to help us thrive,” said WIC Dietitian Katie Meaux. “To get the most benefit from your choices, choose healthful foods from all the food groups, alternate your food choices for a variety of nutrients, and avoid fad diets that promote unnecessary restrictions.”
