On September 30 at Civic Plaza the cities of Bloomington, Edina, and Richfield hosted the “Tri-City Mental Health Summit: A Mayoral Call to Action for Mental Health & Community Well-Being.” This summit was an opportunity to bring together visionary leaders, community advocates, public health champions, and policymakers in the mental health and well-being space.
Attendees heard from panels of experts in the field and came together to brainstorm innovative and transformative solutions to the growing mental health crisis.
The summit opened with remarks from the three city mayors, a call for bold change by physician and State Sen. Alice Mann, and an inspiring message shared on behalf of U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar by one of her staff. Commissioner Brooke Cunningham of the Minnesota Department of Health closed the day with a powerful keynote on the themes of opportunity and hope.
All attendees committed to taking at least one action to improve community mental health. This was an opportunity to make real changewithin our communities.
