The Bloomington Fire and Police departments will participate in a Memorial Day parade organized by Everett McClay VFW Post 1296 and American Legion Post 550.
The parade will begin at the Ziegler Construction parking lot (901 W. 94th St.) and end at Bloomington Cemetery (10340 Lyndale Ave. S.).
A brief memorial service will be held at the cemetery at the end of the parade including a performance by the Bloomington Chorale. A second ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at Dawn Valley Memorial Park, 9940 Bush Lake Road. Mayor Busse will deliver remarks at both ceremonies. Veterans and their families are invited to attend a free luncheon at Post 1296, 311 W. 84th St .following the Dawn Valley ceremony.
Also participating in the parade: Kennedy High School marching band, Kennedy swim team, Bloomington-Richfield dance team, Eleve Dance Performance Art Center, Bloomington Traveling Baseball, Jefferson Boys Traveling Basketball Association, Bloomington United Soccer, American Legion baseball team, Bloomington Lions Club, Bloomington Knights of Columbus, American Legion Riders, Bloomington Super Cars, Bloomington Fire Department, Bloomington Police Department, Richfield Fire Department, Marine Wing Support Squadron 471, Minneapolis Naval Reserve Center, Rise Up Nutrition and Presbyterian Homes.
