Commuter Services invites residents, commuters and employers to try a small change that leads to a big difference and leave the car at home for just one trip in September as part of the 2024 Car-Free MSP campaign.

The 2024 Car-Free MSP campaign encourages residents of the seven-county metro area to pledge to try a sustainable trip method like biking, walking, carpooling or vanpooling, taking bus or light rail transit, or even working from home anytime in the month of September. Every person who makes a Car-Free MSP pledge is entered into a drawing for an electric bicycle and other great prizes.

The public is invited to celebrate World Car-Free Day Sunday, September 22, 12-3 p.m., at Wabun Picnic Area, Shelter A, 4655 46th Ave. S., Minneapolis, part of Minnehaha Regional Park. Visitors can enjoy refreshments and games, pick up free resources and swag and learn more about how sustainable travel choices can reduce their personal carbon footprint.

Commuter Services (www.494corridor.org) and its partners, Anoka County Commute Solutions, Metro Transit Commuter Programs, Move Minneapolis and Move Minnesota believe that making one small change can build new habits that will lead to better air quality, better health, and better commutes.
