There is a lot to do before our site will launch. Dan and I will be full steam ahead creating content, organizing, fixing items on our very long punch list.
The planned launch date is on or near July 13, so we have the blessing of about three weeks' time to get the site squared away.
Your job:
1. Visit each page in your work group's section of the website
Basic pages, events, news, all of it. See the video below for tips on chasing down all your content. Feel free to look for problems anywhere on the site!
Look for problems of all kinds: migration problems, outdated information that got migrated, design issues, and so on, and fix everything you can. Things to look for:
- [toc]
- [accordion], [tabs]
- Timed callouts done as a "widget"
- Important info entered on the old site as a custom block
- Info that just needs updating.
If you can't fix everything, or don't have time to figure out how to fox something, alert Dan or Erik right away. The sooner the better, because we will be pretty busy from now until launch.
You can set up a 30 - 60 minute meeting with Dan and Erik to look at your pages and form a plan for how to improve them. We recommend aiming for the week of June 21 - 25 to allow time to respond, if that's feasible.
Double entering updates on OLD (current) and NEW sites
From now until launch, you can enter info on the old site and it'll stay there until launch, but not after.
And, you can enter info on the new site, but it won't be visible to the public until launch, naturally.
So if you are making updates that are important both now and after launch, you have to make them on both sites.
