NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Bloomington (HRA) will, at a regular meeting of the HRA to be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. will conduct a public hearing to hear comments regarding amendments to the 5-Year Agency Plans and Administrative Plan (Plans) for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Rent Assistance Program.  Anyone who desires to be heard during the public hearing will be afforded an opportunity to do so.  Interested persons may register to speak in advance by contacting HRA@bloomingtonmn.gov or 952-563-8937.

Public Comment Period and Process: 

The draft 2024 Plans with amendments are available for a 45-day public review and comment period from March 29, 2024, through May 14, 2024.  Written comments can be submitted by email or mail through May 14, 2024, and will be included in the documents submitted to HUD.

The 5- Year Agency Plan is a comprehensive guide to the HRA’s policies, programs, operations and strategies for meeting local housing needs and goals. All documents and information regarding the draft amendments to the Plans are available for public review and comment. The documents are available for review on the City of Bloomington website at www.BloomingtonMN.gov  Keyword: Agency Plan.  The draft amendments to the Plans are also available in the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) offices Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., until the day of the closing of the public comment period. 

The HRA is subject to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination based on disability by public entities.  Information regarding the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act is available from the HRA office at 952-563-8937.  Auxiliary aids for disabled persons are available upon request at least 72 hours in advance of an event.  Please call 952-563-8937 to make arrangements.
