Parents and caregivers are invited to join the fun at the Early Childhood Expo on Saturday, April 11, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road, with low sensory focus time, 10-11 a.m. This free, family-friendly event brings together trusted early learning resources, health and safety information and community services, all in one welcoming place for families.

For Idil Farah, an eight-year Bloomington resident and mother of nine, the expo made a lasting impact.

“As a parent of young children, the expo made it easy to connect with people who genuinely care about supporting families it can feel challenging to find the right resources,” Farah said.

Farah, who purchased a home here last year, attended to meet other parents and learn about resources. One highlight was the infant
CPR classes.

“That knowledge gives parents real confidence and peace of mind,” she said. She also valued inclusive programming.

“Classes for Somali parents with interpreters showed that Bloomington truly wants every family to feel supported,” Farah said.
