Citizen Alert

Sign up for our Citizen Alert Program to receive emergency alerts and other critical information during time-sensitive situations. Users can receive notifications about citywide events, and about events that may affect specific Bloomington addresses, homes, workplaces, schools, and more. The Citizen Alert system is designed for time-sensitive emergency situations and is not intended as an investigative tool or for announcing most weather-related events. Therefore, only situations that are deemed emergencies by public safety personnel will be sent.

Users receive Citizen Alert messages via the contact methods of their choice, which may include home, mobile and business phones, emails, and text messaging.

In order to ensure that users will receive messages in a timely manner, users must provide at least one phone number (landline or cell phone). Users also have the option to request additional delivery options such as email, additional phone numbers or text messages.

The Citizen Alert system is provided through Everbridge, a company specializing in mass communication services for government organizations. Data privacy

The information you provide will be used only by the City of Bloomington for notification purposes. We will not give or sell your contact or location information to any vendor or other organization.
