Larkin Hoffman presents Black Women in Real Estate: Redefining the Landscape

Bloomington, MN—The City of Bloomington’s Community Development Director Karla Henderson, Housing and Redevelopment Authority Administrator Aarica Coleman and Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer Faith Jackson sat down with Larkin Hoffman Shareholder Bill Griffith for a three-part podcast series, Black Women in Real Estate: Redefining the Landscape.

Historically women, and in particular Black women, have been excluded from the real estate profession, causing their representation in the industry to be notably low.

“In 2017, the Bloomington City Council committed to act courageously to advance racial equity," said Faith Jackson. "The aim was to integrate race and equity principles into all operations, projects and services of the City.”

The City of Bloomington added these three trailblazing Black women to its leadership team over the last several years. The podcast conversation is a deep dive into the challenges, work and changes taking place at the City under their leadership. They talk about how they are tackling tough issues from an equity and inclusion lens.

In this video, Faith, Aarica and Karla talk about how the podcast came to be, their innovative work at the City and the sisterhood they’ve developed as they work for change together.
