Bloomington 2050 is a once-in-a-decade effort to update the City’s comprehensive plan, shaping decisions about housing, transportation, land use, climate resilience, parks and infrastructure.
In May, staff kicked off Phase One of the community-driven process with in-person and virtual launch events. Since then, the City has gathered input through surveys in English and Spanish, at pop-up events and with six-word story prompts about the future of Bloomington.
Now, residents can explore what the City has learned so far. The Community Profile provides a snapshot of Bloomington today, while the Phase One Engagement Report summarizes the ideas and feedback shared by the community.
That feedback will help shape vision statements and guiding principles for the Bloomington 2050 Plan. Community engagement will continue through 2027, with Phase Two launching in January, giving residents another opportunity to help shape Bloomington’s future.
