Bryant Park Sculpture, Cantus Mysterium concept design by Craig David

The City of Bloomington has selected artist Craig David to create a new, site-specific sculpture for the reimagined Bryant Park, 1001 W. 85th St. 

Selected through a competitive Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process led by the Office of Creative Placemaking in partnership with the Parks and Recreation Department, the project reflects the City’s commitment to supporting artists while strengthening public spaces through creative placemaking.

Artist Craig David is seeking nature and environmental themed ideas to incorporated into the stone carvings for his public art project, Canto Mysterium. These ideas can be a favorite tree or flower, bird or plant or stories of engaging or connecting with nature and the natural world at large.  

Your ideas may be made into the bas-relief illustrations to be carved into the surfaces of the five stones.Submit ideas by May 15.
