E-cigarette use prohibited in public places

On Monday, November 17, 2014, the City Council made changes to City Code that will help keep youth from trying tobacco and assure clean indoor air for residents.

The City Council passed an ordinance to prohibit the use of electronic delivery devices for nicotine (e-cigarettes) in public places:

  • Places of work
  • Restaurants and bars and their outdoor spaces
  • City owned parks and recreational areas

Included in the amendments, cigars can no longer be sold singly. They must be sold in packs of five or sold for $2.60.
