Have you noticed trash or other debris in your neighborhood storm drains? This is a call to adopt the drain.

Adopt-a-Drain volunteers spend about 15 minutes once or twice a month raking, sweeping and removing debris from drains and nearby streets and sidewalks.

Preventing debris from entering storm drains helps keep our waters clean. Water flows from storm drains directly into ponds, lakes, streams and wetlands. Debris and dirty water cause many issues. Plastics and other trash harms wildlife and degrades environmental health and natural beauty. Even grass clippings and leaves can cause blue-green algae blooms in ponds and lakes.

Answer the call from your local drain. Sign up today to adopt a drain at adopt-a-drain.org.
