Hands-on fun with Public Works

Mark your calendar for a great opportunity to meet the people who keep Bloomington’s infrastructure running. After a three-year hiatus, Bloomington Public Works will open its doors to the public for equipment rides, demonstrations, interactive displays, snacks, prizes and other family fun at a free open house on Saturday, May 20, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., at Bloomington Public Works, 1700 West 98th Street. Parking is available in the Civic Plaza parking lot on the south side of West 98th Street. Find the most up-to-date details on the open house at blm.mn/pwoh

Celebrate Bloomington Police’s 70th anniversary 

Get an inside look at the Bloomington Police Department and celebrate its 70th year of community service during an open house on Saturday, May 20, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., in the east lot at Civic Plaza, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road.

Come and see police equipment from different departments like the Emergency Response Unit, bomb squad and K9 Unit. You can also tour the Police Department and meet people from other departments like patrol, crime prevention, animal control, reserves, chaplains, explorers and more! Plus, there will be food trucks and music.
