Explore Bloomington’s past: Attend a living history festival
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go back in time to the 1800s? Get a firsthand look at what life was like in Bloomington between 1800 and 1870 at River Rendezvous, Thursday, September 20, 4 – 8:30 p.m., at Pond-Dakota Mission Park, 401 East 104th Street. Admission is $6 per person and free for children under four. Visitors will get a feel for day-to-day life for American Indians, fur traders and early settlers through storytelling, interactive games and hands-on demonstrations. This festival has a long history of its own—it started back in 1995 as a unique way to educate students about Minnesota’s past. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 952-563-8877.
