Bloomington Hires New Golf Course Manager

The City of Bloomington has selected Peter Kurvers as its new Golf Course Manager. Kurvers will oversee all aspects of the City’s two municipally owned courses Dwan Golf Club and Hyland Greens Golf and Learning Center.

“We’re excited to have Peter onboard to lead the City’s golf operations,” Parks and Recreation Manager Randy Quale said. “He brings with him a long history of leadership and experience in golf management, player development, tournament operations, merchandising and customer service.”

Since 2011, Kurvers has been Head Golf Professional and General Manager for the Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson, MN, where he managed a staff of 65 in golf operations, grounds maintenance, and food and beverage. Prior to that he was Clubhouse Manager at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, MN, for 10 years. He is a PGA Professional and Past President of the Minnesota Section of the PGA. In 2007, he was awarded the Resort Golf Course Promoter of the Year by the Minnesota Section of the PGA.

Kurvers will fill a vacancy left open by former Golf Course Manager Rick Sitek who retired last year after 30 years with the City. Kurvers will begin as Golf Course Manager on March 12.
