Join us for the Second Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Trail. This FREE outdoor event takes place at Normandale Lake Park and is designed for children preschool age through 5th grade.  

EVENT DETAILS

  • Park in the lots along Chalet Road.
  • Begin your journey along the trail at the boat launch on the west side of the lake (see map below).
    • New in 2022: Preschool through 2nd graders encouraged to hit the trail 2 - 3:30 p..m.  3rd through 5th graders encouraged to hit the trail 3:30 - 5 p.m. 
  • Trail experience includes entertainment candy and more surprises!  
    • New in 2022: Food trucks!  
  • Costumes not required.
  • Free event. No registration required.
  • Donation of a non-perishable food item for the VEAP food shelf is appreciated but not required. 
    • Monetary donations for VEAP also accepted.
  • Event takes place weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, updates will be posted here and on the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

2022 COLORING CONTEST

Contest Rules

  • Age groups: Preschool (3 - 4 years), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
  • Color the drawing on a printout of page 2 of the PDF linked above using markers, crayons or colored pencils.
  • Contest entry deadline: Tuesday, October 18, 4:30 p.m.  
    • Deliver coloring sheet(s) in-person or by postal mail to: Parks and Recreation Department, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN 55431
    • OR email a good-quality scan or photo image to parksrec@bloomingtonmn.com
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for each age/grade category.

View and Vote

Voting for the top youth artists in the 2022 Citywide Halloween Coloring Contest will be held online the week before the Trick or Treat Trail event. A link for voting will be posted here once the entry deadline has passed.  


The Citywide Halloween Trick or Treat Trail Event and coloring contest are presented by the Recreation Division of the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with more than a dozen local organizations.
