In June, we met with you in the nine parks identified for the first phase of planning (see below) to listen and find out what you want in your parks. Now we're ready to present preliminary plans on which you can provide additional input.
Visit with City staff, consultants and others and give feedback on concept plans developed for a reimagined Gene Kelly Playfields. The goal is to help ensure residents are served with the facilities, programs and park amenities you want and need.
While you're there, enjoy a free frozen treat from the icicle tricycle!

The City of Bloomington initiated the process of developing a new Park System Master Plan in November 2019. With extensive and invaluable assistance from City staff, Council, Commissions and most importantly the community, the plan is now complete. At its August 30, 2021 meeting, the Bloomington City Council formally adopted the Park System Master Plan.
Adoption of the master plan was just the first step. Now the work of developing individual park plans is underway. The Park System Master Plan, as adopted, provides a clear action plan and guidance for improvements to Bloomington's parks, trails, facilities, recreational programs and green spaces.
