Daybreak Woman: An Anglo-Dakota Life

Learn about the connections between the Dakota and white settlers. Jane Lamm Carroll, PhD, professor of history and women's studies, is the author of the book about Daybreak Woman.

The book details the life of Jane Anderson Robertson, who was the daughter of Grey Cloud Woman II (Margaret Aird Anderson) and Thomas Anderson, and also granddaughter of the fur-trader James Aird and Dakota leader Wabasha I.
