CANCELED: Tying the Knot

When

  • Sunday, February 14, 2021 - 1:00pm to Monday, February 15, 2021 - 3:45pm
Due to cold temperatures, this event has been canceled.  The next fun and educational Pond House event is the Mystery House Tours on February 21.

Use a rope-making tool to fabricate a section of rope to take home, then finish off the ends with a whip knot.

Learn all about rope – a very important tool on the frontier. Hear the story of Samuel Pond’s wedding when several of the guests were snowed in with the couple after they tied the knot!

Drop in any time 1-4 p.m. to learn about this fascinating process.

This FREE outdoor drop-in program will occur weather permitting and with proper proper physical distancing and other safety measures in place.  In the event of weather cancellation, notice will be provided here and on the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Facebook Page. Pond outdoor programs are limited to a maximum of 15 participants from a maximum of 3 households.

The Pond House is located in Pond Dakota Mission Park, 401 East 104th St, Bloomington. For more information visit www.BloomingtonMN.gov.
