David Schleper will speak on the Battle of Shakopee in 1858 when about 150 Anishinaabe warriors ambushed a group of Dakota and their leader, Sakpedan, near present-day Shakopee.

The battle lasted for five hours until the Anishinaabe retreated north toward Lake Minnetonka.
