Notice of Public Hearing: Proposed Establishment of Tax Increment Financing District No. 1-K within Industrial Development District No.1

The Bloomington City Council will hold a public hearing on August 3, 2020, at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers at Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota, or by electronic means as provided by state law relating to the proposed establishment of Tax Increment Financing District No. 1-K (a Housing District) within Industrial Development District No. 1 (South Loop District), and the proposed adoption of a Tax Increment Financing Plan therefor, all pursuant to and in accordance with Minnesota Statues, Sections 469.124 through 469.133 and Sections 469.174 through 469.1794, inclusive, as amended.

The proposed boundaries of the Development District and the proposed TIF District are shown in the map below.  The purpose of the proposed action is to facilitate development of an approximately 86-unit apartment building, that is proposed to include a set-aside of 100% of the units for persons of low and moderate income in accordance with the requirements of an Housing TIF District.  Details on the proposal are contained in the TIF Plan, draft copies of which are available for public inspection on the City Website on the page dedicated to the Bloomington Port Authority. A map of Industrial Development District No. 1 (South Loop District), and Tax Increment Financing District No. 1-J is attached below.
